Wainwright 6-coupled tank engines |
| A
fascinating illustrated study of the various types of 6-coupled tank
engines that were designed by H. S. Wainwright for the South Eastern &
Chatham Railway in the early 1900s, some of which lasting in service into
the early 1960s. |

| Ellesmere,
and the Whitchurch to Oswestry Line |
| An
illustrated history of a former Cambrian Railways line in Shropshire which
linked up with a former London & North Western Railway route at
Whitchurch in the east and the Great Western at Oswestry in the west.
Another feature of Ellesmere was the Cambrian Railways branch to Wrexham.
Full details of train workings and locomotives that could be seen
operating in the area are included. |

STEAM DAYS AT BANGOR
|
|
A well-illustrated potted history covering the
important rail centre at Bangor in North Wales with its large station and
locomotive depot and the many passenger and freight trains that worked from
the shed and that worked through between Chester and Anglesey. From Bangor
there was also the short branch line to Bethesda and the line via Caernarvon
to Afon Wen, which was on the Cambrian route to Pwllheli.
